With temperatures rising and restrictions lifting, Tallman Beach and Pool club set to reopen under new management
As the region begins to brace for the new normal, New Yorkers are salivating at an opportunity to take part in many of the summer activities we all know and love. After months of uncertainty, Tallman Beach and Pool Club will be reopening on July 1, 2020 while observing strict social distancing procedures and best practices, including its live concert series!
This year will be different Tallman Beach and Pool Club will be opening with new management, Cousins Concessions, under the leadership of Jason Donofrio, a longtime Rockland County resident.
Cousin Concession, long time food servicer provider in Rockland County and across Southern NY. Cousins concessions, run by Jason Donofrio, currently operates at Rockland Lake, Bear Mountain, as well as multiple county golf courses. In addition to their work in the region, Cousins Concessions also has a variety of facilities in Tampa where they service many of the Yankees and Phillies spring training facilities, beaches, and malls.
“My goal has always been to get the facility operational and running and then find local management who can run the day to day operations.” said Billy Procida, who rebuilt the pool after it was closed for almost a decade due to state budget cuts.
Procida and his firm envisioned the 80 year old Pool into modern times by adding a beach, concert state, and full dining experience including a bar and has operated the pool for the past 4 seasons. Procida was awarded the Rockland Business association ”corporate citizen” award.
“I am just glad that Cousins Concession is the perfect fit. we were introduced to Jason by former parks department head, Jim Hall, and the park was so supportive of bringing in new management during this crisis. I look forward to visiting the pool this summer in my bathing suit as a customer for the first time since I was in high school” explained Procida between a smile.
“After spending just 1 night with Billy and his team at Tallman I saw the potential for us to bring in our hospitality experience and enhance the experience for all customers of the facility” said Donofrio when talking about his first meeting at Tallman.
Jason admits that some of his plans for the facility will have to be put on hold till next season due to the pandemic but is confident that all the patrons can expect to see some changes. While the new management team awaits guidance from the state, they have begun setting up operations and are eager to welcome patrons when that time comes.

Tallman Beach and Pool Club is located within Tallman State Park which overlooks the Hudson River. After being shuttered for 10 years and various failed attempts to reopen the facility, Billy Procida and his team got to work to open the pool for the summer of 2016. Tallman Beach and Pool Club is a public pool with season pass and day passes for its customers.
