A Nyack local, Hilarie Blumenthal  has been creating original jewelry  using vintage gems, beads, chains and other unique material, for over 25 years. She scours the antique markets for beautiful vintage finds that she can rework into new necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings. She loves working with antique amber beads from the 1880”s to 1930’s, antique Murano glass beads from the 1880’s to 1950’s, antique pearls and cut stones. She also creates charms and rings in gold and silver from antique wax seals – from ancient Roman to the Victorian era. Included in her collection are her handcrafted original designs she creates from hand carved wax that are cast in recycled gold and silver, and incorporate previously loved diamonds and stones. Hilarie was the founder of the Women’s Craft Fair that ran for many years at the Nyack Center. She welcomes clients who wish to repurpose their old, tired jewelry into new contemporary pieces and she is available for repairs and restringing. She also creates one of a kind, custom wedding and engagement rings using either the clients own heirloom stones or ones in her own collection.

Please follow her on  Instagram or check out her website or Etsy store to see her work. You can private message her to purchase anything or ask to FaceTime her where she can show you options for a special gift or mother’s day present. Curbside pick up and delivery is available.

The Co-op is pleased to feature fine pottery by Sally Rothchild. Made by hand on the potter’s wheel in her studio in the Catskill Mountains, Sally’s creations are designed to be used and enjoyed on a daily basis. She uses high-temperature stoneware and fires her pots in her own gas kiln, where the flame and atmosphere of the firing create unique and rich results. The large platters, bowls and vases make for special gifts, and her berry bowls are perfect for a birthday or mother’s day present. Her work is also available from her website.
