JCC Rockland to Celebrate Israel 75

Join us on Sunday, April 30th at the Rockland Jewish Community Campus, 450 West Nyack Road, West Nyack as Rockland Celebrates Israel at 75! This community event will have a day full of spirit and activity for all ages.

Rockland Celebrates Israel at 75 will honor the land, people, and customs of Israel. One of the main goals of the event is to bring together the Rockland community, regardless of religion or nation of origin. JCC Rockland and Jewish Federation & Foundation of Rockland County are proud to partner with 21 non-profit organizations for this event. You can find the full list of non-profit organizations at

Bring the entire family for a special performance by The Maccabeats! The Maccabeats are a Jewish music & acapella phenomena with a flourishing fan base. They’ve played sold-out shows to thousands at JCCs, temples, synagogues, shuls, Chabads, Hillels, jazz clubs, festivals, conventions, and theaters across five continents and over thirty states and provinces.

Other special performances include Small Wonder Puppet Theater and Matty Roxx! Small Wonder Puppet Theater employs a magical mix of music, puppetry, and storytelling to educate children on Jewish holidays and Israeli customs. Matty Roxx is a high energy, educational musician who inspires creativity and fun in the audiences he performs for. Every child will be learning, laughing, moving, and grooving.

There will be plenty of opportunities for adult fun and learning as well. Take an Israeli dance lesson with instructor Leng Tan. Stop into the Chazen Center for Adult Life to listen to the Israeli Philharmonic and speak to an Israeli from the JTech Lounge. Stephanie Hausner will be interviewing Craig Weiss and Jeffrey Weiss, authors of FIghting Back: Stan Andrews and the Birth of the Israeli Air Force, live from Israel.

Other activities will include Animal Interactions petting zoo, face painting, gaga madness, pita making, and art projects. There will be a simulation of an Israeli ‘shuk’, or market, featuring local vendors and food trucks. Pre-registration for this event is free, the price on the day of the event will be $36 for a family of 4 and $10 for every additional guest.
