Clarkstown Parks Open–What you need to know.

Supervisor George Hoehmann is pleased to announce that the following Clarkstown Recreation & Parks facilities and activities will be open to the public, with certain restrictions to ensure social distancing, beginning Monday, June 1, 2020
Congers Lake:
- Two parking lots and grass area only (Main parking lot and tennis parking lot only)
- Tennis courts: Singles play only
- Handball courts: 1 person per court
- Clarkstown K-9 Corrals Dog Park: Maximum of 10 people in each area at a time. One dog allowed per handler.
- Non-gasoline boats in lake, with approved 2020 boating permit only.
- Recreation Office

REMINDER: **All ballfields, playgrounds, basketball courts, pickleball courts, hockey rink, bathrooms, and picnic/ barbecue areas will remain closed at this time**
Tennis at Congers Lake Memorial Park
Must be a Clarkstown resident. Staff will be checking residency.1 1/2 hour time limit if people are waiting.8:00 AM – 8:00 PM PREPARING TO PLAY
Protect Against Infections:
– Avoid contact with others such as hand shaking and high fives.
– Wash your hands before going to the court.
-Clean and wipe down your equipment, including racquets and water bottles.
-Use new balls and a new grip, if possible.
-Consider taking extra precautions such as wearing gloves to avoid picking up tennisballs with your hands.
– If you need to sneeze or cough, do so into a tissue or upper sleeve.
– Avoid touching court gates, fences, benches, etc. (1 person on bench at a time).
– Anyone not playing must be outside the court fencing maintaining social distancing regulations.
Restrooms will remain locked until indoor facilities open.
WHEN PLAYING
– Singles play only (no doubles).
– Try to stay at least 6 feet apart from other players.
– Avoid touching your face after handling a ball, racquet or other equipment.
– Wash your hands promptly if you have touched your eyes, nose or mouth.
– Avoid sharing equipment, drinks or towels.
– Use your racquet/foot to pick up balls and hit them to your opponent.
– Avoid using your hands to pick up the balls.
– Stay on your side of the court. Avoid changing ends of the court.
– Each person should mark their tennis balls with their initials. Pick up and serve with only your tennis balls.
AFTER PLAYING
– Leave the court as soon as possible.
– Wash your hands thoroughly or use hand sanitizer after coming off the court.
– No congregating after playing.
– All players should leave the facility immediately after play.

Boating Permits
Boating will be permitted on Congers Lake from June 1, 2020 through October 18, 2020 weather permitting with approved 2020 permit.Hours : 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Daily
