A Taste of Rockland

“Each year we say that this year’s A Taste of Rockland will be the best yet. And the 2019 Taste will be no different,” says The Arc CEO Carmine Marchionda. “The Arc Rockland marks our 65th anniversary this year—with A Taste of Rockland as our centerpiece celebration.”

More than 400 guests are expected to attend the September 23 gala at the Hilton Pearl River. Chefs and restaurateurs representing 45 plus of the area’s top restaurants and purveyors of fine wines, spirits and signature beers will, once again, donate their time and fare for this spectacular event.  A live and silent auction and a not-to-be missed dessert showcase will round out the evening.

“We take great pride in this event,” says Mr. Marchionda. “The ambiance and elegance are part of what makes this a special night. “But most important is the generosity which is the hallmark of the Taste. Everyone present—from the chefs, to the guests, to the volunteers—comprises our caring community.  The Arc offers its gratitude in advance to all of those who will surely make this the best Taste yet.”

The Arc Rockland was founded by a small group of caring parents. Today, the not-for-profit agency provides services and supports to more than 1,200 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities from infancy through the senior years. Programs include Early Intervention, a preschool, recreation, employment training and job placement, volunteer opportunities and residential options, and a medical practice geared towards people with developmental disabilities.
